Ok my computer is acting up, as you can see.
I can't run many games, such as guild wars, becuase in random points during the game i get an error with a blue background and white text saying something to do with nv4_disp or something like that. I don't know if its the graphix card or what. here are my system specs: Manufacturer: Dell Inc. Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 1022MB RAM Hard Drive: 244 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Sound Card: SigmaTel Audio Speakers/Headphones: Keyboard: USB Root Hub Mouse: USB Root Hub Mouse Surface: Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp.050622-1524)
Also, when i try to play a game called War Rock, the screen gets all glitchy and i cant see a thing...i will try to upload a movie so you all can see how it is.
i think its my video card thats ruining it.. My questions are: What is the problem(s) How do i fix it? If it's my video card, what is a good suggestion for a new one.
if anyone could help, plz do
So does this happen in all of your games, or just certain ones?
Did you get the latest driver for that viseo card? DirectX up to date?
It's a video card driver related problem. Make sure you update them and directx.
If it still has problems, return it to Dell, and I would suggest getting a much more decent card, as the 7300LE, is well, just borderline for games these days.
Make sure you have Direct X9 installed
Im pretty sure i have directX9. It happens to most of my games, some more frequent than others.
It would help if we could know the exact error you're getting.
It sounds like a stop error, bsod.
It is related to driver/hardware incompatibility.
(RAGE)Shadow get an error with a blue background and white text saying something to do with nv4_disp or something like that.
Like said, its a problem with your Nvidia drivers.
Download the latest drivers Here (Forceware 93.71) and follow these steps when you install it:
1. Download and install Driver Cleaner Pro. 2. Uninstall the old Nvidia driver from the Add/Remove programs menu in the control panel 3. Run Driver Cleaner Pro. When you start it, select all the "nVidia" options and run driver cleaner. 4. reboot 5. Install the new drivers. 6. reboot
Then try your games and see if you still have the same problems.
ya thanks. it is a problem with my drivers! so ill just do that^ and post back on what happens. thanks alot!
