hello! 1st time post here. please help me.. my PC being attacked by trojan I think.:uhm: Many of the program's exe became inactive, and many in the system too. I tried to use Norton Ghost Image file to recover it, but something went wrong I think. Usually it will automatically reboot and start the operation, but now it stops at start-up DOS screen and ask: 1. Run Norton Ghost Dos Operation. 2. Return to Windows without running Norton Ghost. and no matter which I chose, I get this message: "This program must be run under WIN32" I use Windows xp Pro by the way. and there it also says I can type "ghreboot" to start windows but I tried that and still get the "WIN32" massage. so there I typed "ghost" to get into ghost operating screen and run the image file and recovered my system. but as I reboot the PC again it still stops at DOS and ask the 1, 2 question.. I looked into the recovered system partition through ghost operating screen, everything seems restored as before. but unless the ghost image was corrupted already? anyway now my PC stops at the DOS screen with that "WIN32" message.. can anyone help please? :(

Hmm did run Ghost from an external medium (Floppy, CD....) ? If so, did you remove it from the drive after restoring your system image ?

I have 2 partition, C: and D: , C: is my OS and programs, and I have the ghost image in my D: so I went though ghost operation screen through DOS, and recovered my C: it just won't boot back to windows.. I don't have any CD or else to boot my PC..I bought that machine from someone's moving garage sale.. he just told me to use ghost everytime if my PC broken..

It may not really help you much at this stage, but it could clear up for later, do you have a 64-bit chip?

And also, another classic example of why not to buy from Norton. :vikki:

Another classic example to get Avast! or Nod32.

That's illegal :/ He should have given you the disc (and all backups), license document etc... Also I guess he didn't give you the Ghost disc and license either :(

Well, time to buy a license for yourself. (and then, if you don't want to buy Ghost, use SavePart, which you can find either on partition-saving.com or included in the Ultimate Boot CD).
