First of all, make future posts more clear when in the Tech forum.

Newer cards often want larger power supplies with different sized cables, so make sure you have the right power going in. 9800 pros go in PCI-Express I think, so if your motherboard is more than 9 months old, it may not have PCI-Express. If it inserts into the AGP slot, make sure it is free from debris or cable (like those awful ribbon cables).

9800 Pro cards go into AGP slots. this is the brown slot located above all the white PCI slots. i dont think this is the problem your having but I also can not really understand what you are saying.

I think he was refering to the power plug on the radeon9800, it requires its own power source.
