Hey all, I'm a computer novice whos run up against a problem I can't seem to solve. I can't connect to the Gamespy Arcade nor can I even get to the page where I can download it. When I attempt to go to www.gamespy.com I am able to do so, but only after waiting for a long time for it to load. Once there, when I click on ANY link, it gives me a "page cannot be displayed message" and says it can't find the server. In other words, I can't connect to their forums or attempt to download the arcade again (I had uninstalled it to see if thats the problem and now can't get it back!) The strange thing is up until about 4 days ago, I had no issues connecting to gamespy. I had the arcade downloaded with a desktop Icon to link so I could connect that way or I could connect from within each game individually. Additionally, I have had no other internet connection issues. I can connect to the internet easily (using SBC.net) and other web pages come up like normal. Now whenever I try to start a multi player game up using gamespy, it doesn't show any games for MOHAA, Blitzkrieg, or RON. When I attempt to play Battlefield Vietnam, I DO get 2 rooms only and am able to connect to them but no other rooms show up when before I would see literally hundreds of rooms. HELP! Anything would be much appreciated. Thanks! Natskivna

I`m not sure but A friend of mine called me yesterday cause he had troubles with Gamespy too.He asked me if I could reach their page but I also couldn`t. I can however play games with gamespy within the games...not directly with gamespy arcade. So maybe gamespy server is down or something. Edit: I just tried but also couldn`t connect.

Well that definitely makes me feel better. Its been down for 4 days now (for me) I figured it would be up by now if it was a website issue. I contacted my ISP and had them try to trouble shoot with me. Its not a browser issue (at least in my mind) since both Netscape and Internet Explorer have the EXACT same issues. My lines are good connecting to the internet, and we checked the settings on my browser just in case and still had issues. The maddening thing is I can't even connect to the forums page which means that I can't complain/search for anyone else having this issue. And there is nothing on their main gamespy.com page discussing any problem. I also noticed that it says almost 200,000 players are playing so obviously someone is connecting. In addition, my tech support person at SBC was able to access the gamespy.com webpage much easier and able to click and open links I couldn't. We spent almost an hour trying to figure this out with no luck. I'm just thrilled to see that someone else is having the same issue. Probably means its not my computer or browser. What is your ISP? Mines SBC.

My ISP is @home. It`s in the Netherlands, where I live. Of all the games you mention I only play BF-Vietnam online. What happens when you just use the ingame multiplayer menu? That should still work.

When I play BV, I only show 2 servers available for online play. In the past, there would be dozens. It also takes some time for the 2 servers to show up as available where in the past I would click internet multiplay and they would pop up almost immediately

Uhm.. I just looked a BF-V and I`m sorry to say but it works. There`s a patch out I don`t know if you already installed it. Though I don`t think that is the problem, cause you say you have it with all yer games. Do you have wireless, firewall or something like that... Like I said, there is a problem with Gamespy arcade but the ingame multiplay option does work.

Ok a happy ending

I was able to connect again starting last Sunday evening. Just out of the blue, things started working normally again. Totally baffled. Must have been an issue on their end. Anyone ever heard of something like this happening before? Five days of no gamespy can make a gamer crazy!!!
