Yes hi everyone when i first log in windows something pops up. ERROR Run-time 429. I'am thinking this might be something thats getting in my way with fixing the CD drive thats cooky.I have tried everything someone please tell me how to fix this stupid thing, It's getting in my way for dowloading Battlefield 1942. And another question a while ago i downloaded bf1942 and it was screw up! When i played single player the following things happen...When u pick ur infentry weapon the pictures of the axis guns are the german based guns. BUT iam japanese.2.The japanese cars got a new paint job!3.When the names of the peeps on each team are displayed it does not show all of the peeps. It just show the taskbar window full of men. I have not found anything else and yes i did use this on a diffrent computer and everything was the same. If i get this downloaded I will look for more things.I guess i will report to EA unless someone tells me.:0wned:

429 is an active X error, I havent really played with that myself so all I can suggest is to try un-registering and then re-registering the active X components.

As for the BF1942 error I suggest you dont download software if you expect it to work.

Well that's rather a large ball park; once a programs been compiled there's virtually no way to tell what ActiveX controls it uses unless a list of these are included in the program documentation. Depending on what program is causing the problem downloading the VB6 runtime files may or may-not fix it; I wouldn’t get my hopes up though.

Edit: If you have Norton antivirus try disabling that as it is known in some cases to cause a 429.
