Well, Alright I decided that I'd spend 5 days dling the supreme commander demo to see how it was. It wouldn't even let me start it because it won't accept my ancient radeon X300. Heres the question: How well would a 7600 GT play a game in that range? like mid settings? OR how much do you need to spend on a card to get it to high settings? ya. Plus, I'm getting rly depressed, cuz I thought my CPU was good. Its a pent 4 w/ HT, 3ghz. But is it decent? Like today I saw a 3.2 ghz cpu on a well equipped pc on Newegg for $400... lord save me. Is my CPU better than that one in some way.. please say yes.
There's nothing wrong with a 3Ghz P4 mate. But if the one on NewEgg is a 3.2Ghz processor then it's either a Pentium 4 (in which case it's faster than your 3GHz one) or a Pentium D (which is dual core and so superior in pretty much every way to a P4).
wha? i never noticed pentium d stands for dual-core.... GOD! I got my computer at the wrong time... like a month before duals came out.
omg how did we spend nearly 2k on a pc??? Heres specs: X300 radeon 512 mb ddr2 ram Dvd/cd burner 17" flat panel annd 3 ghz pentium of course...
You spent almost 2,000 Dollars on that?
Sorry dude, you got ripped off very bad.
dell.... *winces* -_- well it cost like 1600.... oh well actually it came with a 200 dollar camera (which was shitty) and a real nice photo printer/scanner/fax... which is broken at the moment. So more like 1200
If he bought it five years ago, then it wouldn't have been such a rip off.
So when the heck did you buy the thing?
less than 2 years ago....
the only other thing I can think of is they said it had great expandability...
