Hi all,

I'm setting up a website for my school's sociology department, anyhoo I've made the decision not to host it on the school server - this is my work and I will not have some semi-Nazi controlling and censoring it. (From which you can read I don't trust the school technicians to fix a screw let alone be trusted with a website.) This may seem like an over reaction but since the school is into censoring a vast range of opinions and persecuting the students who express them, even to the extent of threatening them with legal action in one case, this is the only way I'm going to do it. From all I can gather they've abused their power for years now and I'm not going to let them abuse something I create. There shouldn't be any legal issues with this since the site will exist entirely of my own work and will not include any of the school's logos or copyrights etc.

So, I'm at the stage where I need to pick a company to host it, and since you're all brainy people I thought I'd see who you thought I should host with... :)

I would suggest 1&1 but their prices are a ripoff compared to what they offer Americans so I've kinda gone off of them recently...

Well obviously I don't want to spend too much more than I have to though I suppose their prices aren't completely unreasonable. The unlimited traffic allowance looks nice. Probably works out okay if I hosted some other things on there as well.
