Okay... I took a rather short clip during FEAR, using FRAPS, and it turned out to be pretty cool. It's only about 1.5 seconds, and is 5.2 megs (pretty big for the length?) I'm wondering if there is a way I can convert, or recreate, the MPEG into a small animated GIF image. (I wanna use this in my sig so if this belongs in Graphics please move) Is there any free software I can get where I could do something like this?

Yeh, first you can convert the mpeg into an avi or other compatible format using a program like Blink and Smacker and then opening and messing with it via the animation program which you can download free via GIMP. You should be able to do what you want, but keep in mind that gifs can't be very long without going all crappy and psychotic on you :(

[edit]and yea, we would have answered it in the graphics dept., but this probably works too since it's a software question after all[/edit]

Or if you have Photoshop just open up the file in ImageReady and it will do the work for you ;)

I did read it, the present conditional tense suggests either you already have it, or you don't, it doesn't give any suggestions about free options, so I did read your message, especially seeing as how I quoted it. You don't ask for free software if you happen to have something that costs a couple grand lying around. Don't be a snob and say people didn't read what you say, when you didn't read the first post to figure out what conditions you were answering to.
