Rookie_42Is this an actual BSOD or a Windows dialog box?

Answer this, because is makes the difference between a very easy fix, and a format.

Well, it might seem stupid, but check to see if that's what your screensaver is set you. A friend might have changed it ;)

I used to have some BSOD screensavers, they were pretty cool. You can even get BSOD boot screens!

If no one else ever uses your computer except you, it sounds like you got a nasty little virus causing it.

I managed to find it out...

I did some searching, and it appears to come from a fake BSOD gen.

You load it up, type in an IP address and type in a message... and, schazam!

I've found out the IP of the guy doing it... (using good old netstat) and he's about to get a taste of his own medicine... *malicious laugh*

Case closed.

You running a firewall of any kind?

If not, you should really get one, a good firewall should block anything like that. get ZoneAlarm if you don't have one.

Done.

Cheers, StaticX.

And, yes, I'm behind ZoneAlarms... Hmm... It obviously didn't block it...

That's because it's a kernel-level service. Now don't brag about whatever you're doing here, k? Good, glad we're at an understanding.
