I think that you cannot chose whether to use it or not. It is supposed to be better, although I run on AMD processors rather than Intel ones. It is faster, someone I know had a problem because it was too fast!

[quote2=Tachyon]I think that you cannot chose whether to use it or not.[/quote2] i know it can be turned on/off in the MoBo bios (as in the case of mine)...but i don't have the right chip, i am thinking of upgrading, hence, the reason for this thread... [quote2=Tachyon]someone I know had a problem because it was too fast![/quote2] that would be an interesting problem to have... @ Mortal Gathum -- anychance you could be a little more specific? what type of improvements have you noticed?

Yes you can turn of hyperthreading and it gives you a much slower loading rate.

It is faster, someone I know had a problem because it was too fast!

That couldnt happen what I think your friend meant was he had too much ram and was using a very old game. If your computer has too much ram to know what to do with the old game becomes hpyer-active and freaks out.
