Ok, now i'm really shitty. I have finally found the processor I want for my new gaming rig (AMD Athlon 64Bit 3500+ Socket 939) and have found an even worse dillema. I hear ASUS make the best motherboards, however those bastards seem to confuse thier customers fairly easily. There are 3 motherboards I have taken a particular interest to, which I need help with. I need the BEST one out of this bunch for gaming, along with going well with my processor.... *Abit AV8-3rd Eye VIA K8T800 Pro SATA ATX *Abit AV8 K8T800PRO S939 SATA RAID GBLAN ATX *Asustek A8V Deluxe Motherboard I'm not even sure if Abit and Asustek are the same company, but people seem to confuse "A8V" with "AV8" all the time and it's bloody annoying. Can someone clear this problem up for me and I can put this thread to rest? Cheers guy's, ~Nik.

No Asus and Abit are two different companies. Abit is also a good company. It's just that some manufacturers use similar model numbers. Asus is the A8V. Get the deluxe. They always come with more bells and whistles and more accessories.

Abit and Asus are good but i bought an MSi Neo 2 after reading reviews on this site

http://www.neoseeker.com/Hardware/Motherboards_and_Components/Motherboards/Socket_939/

have a good read and then make your own mind up, i dont like saying one board is better than another, i would rather people chose what they feel they like, that means going through a load of reviews but getting the chance to see what is available

that or just search for socket 939 motherboard reviews as i did there are plenty of reviews but neoseeker provides links to other sites

Thinking about it.
