I didn't make it!
Computer Specs : 2.4ghz, 512ram, 256mb ATI Radeon Video Card, DSL connection
Problem : I play DOD source for about 20 minutes with no lag at all. Its perfect but then after around that time it just lags out crazily until I reboot. I went to my local computer professionals and they said my computer should be enough to run DOD source fine. I mean, it plays fine for about 20 mins, but cannot run it fine any longer? What seems to be there problem? I was thinking about updating to 1 GIG of RAM. The computer guys said it MIGHT be my internet connection blocking bandwith and not providing me with enough or something like that, OR the game isn't giving me enough resources. If you think you can help me or provide me with information about this. Please reply back here ASAP or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or on AIM at badassb016. PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you. :cya:

sounds like a problem with your internet connection.
run adaware and spybot first and get rid of any nasties.
memory can be a problem, but you should not see that with 512mb ram
next test with a ping test first. go to an MSDOS prompt, and type "ping -t www.download.com" (without the quotes)(or whatever site you like) pinging tiny packets one a second at the destination. Watch the sequence numbers printed .. leave it running for a short time, say 30 seconds, then press control-c. Final packet loss statistics will be printed. If you see 5% or more packet loss, then TCP performance is going to be poor over this link.
third, download and run visual route....http://www.visualroute.com/
fourth, check your speed ......http://www.dslreports.com/stest
last check your isp......http://www.dslreports.com/archive
let us know what you find.

FYI: Some Gaming HOD bandwidth Search on the net for TCP/IP TWEAKing SEE: MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) The largest packet size that can be transmitted over the network. Messages longer than the MTU value must be divided into smaller packets by the communications protocol (TCP/IP). I dont have enough posts to give you the link i have at this time... But its worth a shot...

It might also be cooling. Your CPU might be overheating a little after 20minutes at peak performance. I don't know what I can advise you other than to get that CPU benchmark program and check it out. I can't remember the name but you should be able to sniff it out on google or something.

Try the game in offline mode and see if you suffer the same problem.
