No! I'm Spamacus!

Well, I better take back my last thread. My harddrive is now messed up for no apparent reason, and I just discovered that I can't install any new programs when using Ubuntu.
When I try, I get the following error:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
So I run that command, but then I get:
matthew@matthew-desktop:~$ dpkg --configure -a dpkg: requested operation requires superuser privilege
I'm pretty sure I'm in the admin group. I saw no "superuser" priviledge option.
Apparently jpg files on Linux are different than on Windows? I tried uploading a screenshot, but it told me it was an unrecognized file. I think I'm just going to have to format this entire harddrive and install Windows 95 or something. :([/edit]
