I'm planning to buy a ati 9800 pro but my problem is most of that card only supports 8xagp mine is only 4xagp. I have a cheap motherboard, and a pentium IV processor with 2.4 Ghz. I heard that AMD Athlon processors are good in gaming. What do you think I should do? just buy a card that supports a 4xagp. What's the difference between 4x and 8x? I don't want to buy a new computer coz it's gonna cost me more money. Please tell me your comments....

if this computer is a "gaming" computer and thats its main reason.....it get a new mobo and an AMD 2800 minimum.....only about 300 bucks for a combo pack....and get a 9800XT...anbother 300....but if ur short on cash.....that card should hold u over. And there is little diffeernece between 4X and 8X....its just a matter of transfer speeds from the card to the mobo....rarley is the a diff in game.

If you don't upgrade your motherboard, your card will run at 4X AGP instead of it's regular 8X AGP, if you are willing to live with it you should be okay, providing your motherboard can support your Video card.
