Hope this is the right place to post...oh well. For xmas I received an Ipod nano, (w00t) which came with a cd that had itunes as they all do I assume. I managed to get all my music onto the 'pod, but now whenever I plug in my ipod and open up itunes it sais "The software required for communicating with the ipod is not installed correctly, Please reinstall itunes to install the ipod software." Now, I have reinstalled everything, and this error message still flashes up. Aparantly apple are aware of this problem but none of their advice has resolved the issue. So...what the hell do I have to do to fix this? Anyone?
Well if apple are aware of it, check for a firmware update.
If not your sorta fuc**d until they release one.
On second thought tho i suppose you could just take it back and get a different one see if that fixes any problems?

I dont think it's a problem with the ipod, I can put files on it with windows explorer, but not music via itunes.
Boy, that's a massive pain in the ass. But yeah, do as Jak|17 says and use the iPod updater to see if Apple has released a new firmware update.
bloody hell...the ipod updater doesnt work either.... it just sais "service error". This is really starting to bug me.
Uninstall everything, and then reformat your iPod, and restart the whole process.
Done, problem hasn't gone away.
Too late to edit....one of the suggestions on the site involves task manager, but thats screwed up aswell! the tabs have gone missing.... you know, applaications and all that. Jesus, what is WRONG with my computer?
come on someone, if I can't fix this then my ipod will just have to remain the hollow musical shell it has become... :bawl:
