....from Windows to Mac. I would like to buy a Macbook Pro sometime, but I have a few short questions: 1) When will Merom (Core 2 Duo) show up in Apple computers? 2) When will OS X v10.5 (Leopard) show up? Thanks for the help.

Why do you want to switch to Mac? What's wrong with Windows? (Don't start the flaming Mac/Linux users)

I don't blame you for wanting to switch.

There's nothing known for sure about either of those release dates for the new OSX or Core 2 Duo's. It's all just specualtion.

However, what I know about the speculation says that the bew OS X will be revealed at the Mac depvelopers conference next month.

As for the Core 2 Duo, it might also be revealed at the depvelopers conference too. However, the Mac tower might be the only line of Mac's to recieve it.

Those things should be revealed at the developer's conference, as marvinmatthew said.

Also, I would wait to buy a MacBook Pro until the next generation, solely because of all of the problems the current generation is having (overheating, etc). However, I would love to have a MacBook as well, just to play with and learn the OS.

I agree, wait for the dev conference. Or of course you can get a much better laptop, not made by apple, called a pc, running mac os x. :D I would love to have a macbook pro though, to complement my ipod :)

Those Macbooks are very nice, i wish i had one. I've been considering a Mac Mini for awhile but just can't bring myself to decide to get one...

I Agree. And from what i here, the Power Mac G5 replacement, the "Mac Pro" i've seen it called, is sure to be getting Core 2 Duo, with Yonah as a possible option. But again, thats just what i've heard.

Good point, the Mac Book does to be somewhat trouble plauged, espically for an Apple product. I would wait too.
