Recently when I load Windows at least on of my icons change. For example-my internet explorer icon will change to my steam icon or vice versa. what can be causing this?

It might be that you have a memory leak, um.. you may have a virus, um.. or you might have a corrupted Windows. There are probably other reasons but they are the only one's I can think of at the moment.

well, internet explorer does have some weird things happen to it. stuff like that has happend to me before, as well has having bold lettering all over the place for no reason. i downloaded Mozilla Firefox, which is an internet browser with pop up blocker and such, and so far in the past month i havent had 1 pop up or weird occurence. you can download it here ~

Ive had that problem before. The os was unstable so I had to reformate. Do you get just blank icons alot? Or all of them just switched with a different one? You might want to run microsofts base line security to.

Just 1 or 2 will change. It only happend after I installed SP2. It's not a virus or spyware I have my pc protected.

That's probably why it happened. There are reports that SP2 can cause issues with some computers. Just uninstall it and see if that solves your problem.

I'll see if that works. SP2 didn't really impress me at all anyway. Not that it was really all that much of a pain in the butt. Just thought it was kinda weird.
