My graphics card runs at a constant 40 degrees c, with no 3d application running, it slowly climbs while playing games, the first 10 degree increase takes like 30seconds though... What temperature would a graphics card "overheat" at?

i dont know exactly whats good and whats bad, but i would guess that a would be a largely high temperature around 70 would be when you should start getting worried about over heating or anything.

It also depends on the card, and how good its heatsink is. The newer the card, the higher it can get, usually. 70 would be for the most current cards, X800s, X80s, 6600s, and 6800s.
