ok, as many of you know, i got a new computer, and winxp, i'm trying to install it, but the approx. time till done only goes down about 2 minutes every 20 minutes... then it froze at 32 minutes for at least 10 hours, then we shut it off... anyone else have this problem installing winxp?
specs: athlon xp 2700+ 1 gb corsair ram w/ platinum heat spreaders 160 gb hd
thats all that really matters for this any suggestion would help, i'll give points for the one that fixes it
give cyberpowerpc a shout Im sure they would help. Then again if you did get it from there which I think you did.
Btw- how much did you pay for that comp?
i didn't get it from them if i did xp would come pre-installed on the hdd, so if it doens't work this time, i'll call up microsoft tech support :rofl:

how are you installing it? when you start up the computer you need to push F12 immediately then go from there. i just helped my friend re-install it, but i dont know how different you situation is from his.
i go into c-mos and tell it to boot from the cd then when i get through that stuff of copying the installer files, i go back to c-mos and tell it to boot from the hard drive
ok, i got it fixed... i replaced the mobo/cpu with one we got on sale at frys and it worked perfectly... thanks for all your help peeps.... now, to send that other motherboard and cpu back to newegg
Seems XP is not friendly with some mobo's.
