At college here I have 2 ethernet [I think that's what they're called] jacks in my room [I have single room, lucky me]. I use one for my laptop here, and the other for my tower [just got it back, seems all good]. I normally just plug in my cat5 cable into the back of my tower and it auto-detects my connection, internet browser and multiplayer games work just fine. But since I've gotten my tower back, it doesn't seem to auto-detect. I can see when I plug in the cable into the tower that the little box comes up saying a connection is being established and when I click on the appearing icon, it shows the packets traveling and forth but after a short while [about 63 packets] it goes grey meaning inactivity. I have unplugged and replugged the cable various times and reset my computer, it doesn't seem to help.

Can I do anything to help this situation?
