The port should be the default. If not, I can't really help you. For server, put irc.freequest.com or .org or whatever it is. Once you connect to the server, pop3mm will be the channel.
well this is what it is in mIRC Description:pop(thats what i write) IRC Server:irc.freequest.org also tried .com Port(s):6667 Group: Password: now thats how it looked and i tried to connect with both things irc.freequest.org and irc.freequest.com and it says Unable To Connect To Server (Connection Timed Out) IS this because i need a password for it
Well what program do you use to connect to IRC servers
I pretend to do stuff.

I've written a guide on this in the past, with commands and how to configure and such. /me starts to dig in the Spam forum
Aha! Got them!
Configuration 1. Download and install.
2. Open the program.
3. Fill out the following fields: Full Name: the name which will be displayed when people ask the server for information about you. Email Adress: user@randomstuff NickName: your nickname Alternative: the nickname you will get when the first one is taken [Note: make sure the user of the Email is the same as your Nickname, eg the1chaos@stuff - the1chaos]
4. Click the flower next to the "Connect to Server" button IRC Network: All IRC Server: GameSurge - Random Server Note: You have to do something else. You have to press 'Add', fill in the fields (adress: irc.freequest.net), you don't need a password or anything.
6. When connected, type: /j #FileFront in the server window. This should get you in the channel.

handy mIRC options:
when started, go to tools -> options -> IRC check "Rejoin when kicked" and "Autojoin on invite"
Joining a channel: /join #channel /j #channel (EG: /Join #Filefront)
Exiting a channel: /part #channel [message] Click on the X in the corner. (EG: /Part #Filefront Bye everyone, I'll see you next time.)
Actions: / me action (EG: / me eats a cookie.) [Note: The space between the "/" and "me" needs to be removed. I placed it because the forum recognises it as a command, and you otherwise still wouldn't know how it works.]
Connect to a different server or network: /server server. /s server (EG: /Server Irc.Gamesurge.Net)
Connect to a new server or network in a new window: /server -m server /s -m server (EG: /server -m irc.gamesurge.net)
List of all the channels on a network (can take a while to compile): /list
Changing your nickname: /nick newnick (EG: /nick the1chaos)
Requesting information about someone from the server. /whois Nickname (EG: /whois the1chaos) [Note: adding the name twice will also show you the idle time of that user.]
Server commands (Gamesurge specific - different for most networks).
Registering a nickname: /as register Nickname Password Email /msg Authserv@Services.Gamesurge.net register Nickname Password Email (EG: /as Register the1chaos GenericPassword email@example.com
Authenticating yourself. /as auth Nickname Password /msg Authserv@Services.Gamesurge.net auth nickname password (EG: /as auth the1chaos GenericPassword)
Registering a channel: Join #Registration and follow the provided instructions.
User has an @ in front of his/her nick - mode +o These users are channel operators, they have all the 'power' in a channel. They have the ability to change topic, kick or ban people, set channel modes, and set +o and +v for other users. User has a + in front of his/her nick - mode +v This mode has no concrete use, apart from the fact that it allows users to talk when the channel is Moderated.
Standard channel modes.
+t Only ops (+o) can change the channel topic.
+l The channel has a member limit. (Usually to prevent flood-joins)
+m Moderated chat. Only people with +v (voiced) or +o (opped) can talk.
+i You need an invitation to join this channel.
+k You need a key to enter this channel.
+n No external messages will be displayed in the channel.
+s This channel is secret - it won't show on /whois or /list commands.
+p The ancestor of +s - noone should use it, and noone knows why its still there.
As for your question about what the reason was for "Connection Timed Out" - it just means the server can't be found.
Well i tried all the first bit but when i click add right in IRC Server Name it click okay then connect and my comp just goes with th sound bump and when i click edit the IRC Server name has been erased??
