Hi. I kno this question is probly asked waaay too much but I was just wondering...should I upgrade to vista??
I'd wait until at least SP1 is available for it and read up on the effect it has performance wise if any.
Yeah, i wouldnt bother. I have it on my laptop and its no great shakes. Wait till it matures a little first.

I think it depends on if you're going to be gaming on it r not, if yes, then wait til SP1, if not, then go ahead, it does have better security than xp, and for home/buisness purposes, it is a good OS.
If you're building a new system and need to buy an OS for it, then I'd get Vista. If you're talking about upgrading an existing machine to Vista from XP, then no.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

My own personal plan is to wait until there is a must-have game released that requires DX10 to run right. If that happens soon enough and if my current hardware will run it,I`ll simply buy another hd and do a dual boot.
I personally see no great benefit in upgrading to Vista at the moment. It doesn't have anything of any great benefit over XP (other than slightly better memory management, UAC (shudder) and a shiny interface) - plus, there are next to no games that can take advantage of DirectX 10 anyway.

Is M$ using memory management as a selling point? Because Vista's management is rather worse than that of XP's.
If you can at all hold off, wait until SP1. Unless, of course, you got it for free. Legally, of course.
It's supposedly much improved, however with the introduction of RAM caching MS is just doing what the OSS community have been doing for years already. In theory it's a good idea, it's just a shame the Vista implementation has been somewhat...sub-par.
What is this place?

In my opinion, I don't think Vista is worth it. It requires to much to be worth while. It also burns a lot of RAM. I say stich with XP.
