Since it's release on the 30th of January Vista has been put to the test. The results are not too good. It may be the most secure version ever of Windows. But with hacking like this and bugs like that Vista might end up like ME (we all know what happened there). I don't think it's worth the upgrade. How about you? I'd like to know what you think.

No. There's just too many things about Vista that i do not like, I'm not going to go into all the reasons again as there are already a number of threads here about it. But so far i have not seen anything that makes me want to buy it, or spend money on my PC in order to run the new Aero Glass GUI good and smooth. Actually, IMO Aero so far seems to be the best feature of Vista.

Vista might end up like ME

Oh god, i hated ME... Sometimes i just wanted to throw my PC out the window when i had ME....

There are a lot of other threads in the tech area that are/have been debating this question for a while now. Look at one of them.

Let me put it this way. My uncle has a voucher for a free upgrade to Vista Home Premium edition. He's not going to bother getting it.

From what I've seen and read, I can see where he's coming from.

Microsoft getting worse? As in, the OS isn't as better as XP was than 2000?

Seriously they should stick with what they're good at - being simple and plain. It seems they've been using too many Macs and have tried to copy too much eye candy in a Windows OS, which just doesn't go in the same sentence normally, plus, with 32 errors in one week they've obviously not tested or just forgotten about bugs in a good proportion of the actual system for some "semi-nice looking" GUI.

Having used Vista for myself for about 2 hours, I found a total of 2 cool things you can do. Even those were only cool for Windows, after using Mac OS X Tiger, Vista wasn't at all special, at all.

I do however agree that if you are buying a new PC for the simple reason that your monitor has now changed to yellow instead of white and the keyboard letters are now invisible, (aka you're computer is dam old), then you should probably get the new Windows OS on it. Then again, that's common sense i suppose :p

I voted no because only one of my games can be played without fear of it crashing to desktop and also due to the fact that I can't get on the internet with that computer(im pretty sure its cause of vista).

Vista's cool looking and secure. But only secure to a limit and then it sucks. Here's grades that I'd give OSes from Microsoft. Windows Vista: C- Windows XP: B Windows ME: F Windows 2000: C Windows 98: B Windows 95: B+ I'm not getting Vista right now because it's the prime target for hackers. They're trying all the ways they can to make that system break. They did it to XP and they've done it to Vista. Will there ever be a truly rock solid 100% secure OS ever?

Those ratings look pretty spot on actually, although I don't remember 2000 being half bad.
