Error 1402: Could not open key: HKEY_LOCALMACHINE/software/Classes/.cdda/OpenWithProgids. Verify you have sufficient access to that key or contact support personel.

Thats what I get when I try to reinstall iTunes, off my cd or the website. It pops up after installing when it is "writing system registry values".

Tried it with antivirus stuff off, my avrixshield off, and tried it in safemode (which didnt let it install hehe)

Im gonna do a registry clean and see if it works but I'm doubting it.

Anyone know an inkling of what I should do? the website doesn't cover it.

thanks! cc

Are you using an admin account? - You'll probably need to be using one.

Is iTunes running in the background somewhere? - If it's running and using it, then that will why it's be denying access.

Nope. It's not installed, I had a reformat a while back. Also I had some pretty bad virus problems last weekend. I managed to get rid of the trojans and junk using spyware doctor, but it was in my registry and everything. Could that affect it? I haven't had any other problems.

And yes I am the administrator.
