No. SLI is Nvidia ATI is coming out with their own version of "SLI". I forget what it's called.

Crossfire. I still don't understand how it's supposed to work, though. Just get either and X850xt PE or 7800gtx if you want power. They are both vastly more than anything you will need for the next 2 or so years.

Yeah crossfire is like SLI but if you want to use it you have to have a "master" card to have SLI so that means you already need a $400 ATI card. So you can have 1 $400 card and a $100 card... Kinda stupid that you need a $400 card no matter what if you want to use cross fire and then insted of having the connecter that connects the cards inside the case its out side and you loose 2 monitor ports......

I would get a single 7800GTX. SLI is still in its early stages, and not many games benefit from it. There are even games (I believe HL2 is one of them) when a single 6800GT would outperform 2x6800Ultras in SLI. If you get a 7800GTX, not only will you have better performance now... but you will be able to upgrade to an SLI rig later, and it will be cheaper off the bat.

Getting a 6800GT is good idea. It still can pay all games maxed out highest settings. Then when you need the extra power you can get another 6800GT and run in SLI. A lot of benchmarks showed dual 6800GT out beating a single 7800GTX. But if you do have the money get a 7800GTX :) or a ATI X850 PE :)

7800GT's are $400 and run a lot faster than 6xxx series.
