Looks like explorer.exe isn't starting. Start Task Manager (CTRL + ALT + DEL) Then File -> New Task (Run...) Type cmd

then just type explorer.exe in there.

That's just a guess.. If it works it won't fix your problem.. But at least you'll know what's wrong.

When your computer boots up, first open up the Task Manager and look at the processes. Chances are explorer.exe isn't working, but describe to us what goes on. Does the computer load fine, but one process starts taking up 97% of the CPU about 30 seconds in? Does the computer load fine, but it has a big pause in between loading processes? How many processes do you have on full boot, taking what (average) CPU at rest? Etc.

Oh dear this is bad, this happened to my computer before, after continous attempts on fixing it which of course failed we had no choice but to reset the computer, this means everything, data, games, music everything gets deleted. Its like getting a new computer but it is in fact your current one. This may happen to you too, sorry mate,I wish there was another solution...:(

There's almost always a solution other than resetting your computer. Chances are a program or two simply aren't executing.

So describe what is happening with it! What processes are loading, how much of the CPU does it take, etc.

I'm just taking a guess here since the info that Pb2Au has requested hasn't been posted but it kind of sounds to me like something within your OS is either corrupted or missing. If you have and OS disk for that machine I might suggest that you restart your laptop and boot from the disk. From there follow the prompts to repair the installation. That should work assuming that its something with your OS thats missing/corrupted.

That's unusual, perhaps the LAN at his office has slow connection?
