Which moniter do you thing is best LCD OR CRT? I just got a new 17in (about 40 cm) moniter the other day. I have herd about the pixel quality issues with LCD's. and cose to get a CRT. What do you think is better???
fro gaming, CRT's are still the best, but if your not a big gamer then it would suit you to save the space and energy and get an LCD. LCD are coming close to CRT when it comes to pixel switching speed, or how fast a pixel can change its state or color, for CRT this is almost instantaneous, but its much harder to make LCD do this really fast.
I agree. CTR has had more time to develope and is picture-qualitywise better, but still majorly unhandy in size.
Did you know some of the major manufactorers has stopped production of CTR type screens?
CRT all the way
ahh, now i'm not sure about getting a 17" LCD screen :( i'm gonna use my pc for internet, MSN and gaming... what do u lot think?

I have a CRT screen. Only it's about five years old, and only has the figure 60 as refresh rate. So for me, that won't make much difference, especially seeing as LCD screens have now surpassed that. But still, there are many other factors. The infamous 'dead spots' LCDs are often afflicted with could serve to spoil gaming. They're supposed to be better for your health, though. The ones I've used are certainly easier on my eyes than these big things.

CRTs still mostly hold the advantage over LCDs in compatability (i'll explain) and price. price - a 19" LCD monitor costs about 3 times as much as a 19" flat CRT (i'll take 2 CRTs and have dual monitors and save money!) compatibility - LCD moitors DO have good refresh rates IF you plug it into the digital video out spot. if your video card doesnt have a DVO port, then you will be screwing over the LCD's refresh rate.
CRTs aren't going away anytime soon.
Ok, I have an Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600XT WITH DVO...
"Sorry, I am an nVidia fan at heart, it was cheaper! I swear! Don't kill m-"
...so does that mean I should get an LCD? Will it definitely be ok for gaming?
Get a CRT with a flat screen.
