I have a 25gb a month limit, and when i go past that, my connection gets maxed to 0.5mbps instead of the usual 15. I download from servers like filefront and such with an average if 20kbps, playing online is horrible and youtube wont even load.
Yet, i'm downloading all my steam games with 1.5mbps without it goes off my limit, because at this speed i have none. And yes, there is nothing of the files left in the folders, since the games never even have been installed on this pc. It even goes to 2.1mbps sometimes. And when i have full speed, i usually get 3.0mbps.
This rocks, too bad this doesn't work on XBL. As i just got Star Trek on Zune Store, but i can't download it. =p
Could i "hack" this by using the ports steam uses or so? It would be quite kewl. :D I'm downloading all kinds of demos now that i've wanted to play for such a long time, but my 25gb limit didn't allow me to. :D
25 gig a month? My god man stop the illegal files. HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED???
bump, i still want to know why, and how i could abuse it. :D
BUMP, people, still if you don't know the answer, please link me to something that could help me. :bawl:
Feel me. Do I feel pretty?

Maybe no-one knows.
Also, I thought that you were using a UK service. Sheepeep complains about their crappy bandwidth a lot and also British Telecom.
Belgium, Telenet. It's good, but it really sucks when you're over the monthly limit. And it resets the 17th, so i want to abuse it a bit before it resets to my tiny monthly 25gb cap.
What ports do Steam use? I could try to set them as default in Firefox.

Okay, but only because you asked nicely... http://www.google.com/
Bump. I'm here again, almost with my bandwidth exceeded, and i can still use the Steam glitch. Or maybe my provider has a deal with steam? :lookaround:
25gb cap? damn.... 25gb is nothing these days, especially considering how many games are 10gb, HD movies are usually over 1gb, etc
