Nice rig Choc, but I take it you're not going to go tri SLI if you use all 3 slots? Better to go dual SLI with a PhysX card IMO, esp since you already have a good card for PhysX. I considered the 470, but I'm waiting for the 384 core GF104 instead. I haven't decided whether to go with a dual SLI MB or tri SLI. The latter I'd be able to go dual SLI with a PhysX card, but would put me into an X58 MB, and then I'd have to deal with crap Turbo Boost ratios, so I'd end up with a much more complex OC than going 1156 and an i7-875k. Really wish Intel would make an unlocked CPU for 1366 in an affordable price range.

*The.Doctor;5387890 If its not too much trouble, could you post some benchmarks with and without the 8800 for PhysX? I still have my old 9800GTX i could use with my 470 in the same setup if its really worth it.

Sure thing, man. Both Mafia II & Batman AA have built in benchmarks. I would be interested in it myself. I will turn offf vsync to get a more accurate reading.

I honestly don't see how I could fit 3 cards in there..lol...I had to use the 3rd slot for the 8800 because I didn't think there was adequate room or airflow to put in in the second slot. I may go dual sli in a few months as the price on these cards keeps dropping.

Yeah that's another thing that might make my decision tough. The 384 core GF104 will probably be much lower in power consumption and heat than a 470, but I'm wondering now how the price & performance will compare, because the 470s keep dropping in price. Some speculate the 384 core GF104 won't even be released until all the 470s are gone though.

If you were going to ditch the 470 and go with a 480, why not get a 570 instead?

Congrats on the card though, you'll get a decent jump in performance from your 470.

Ah, didn't realise the 480 had gotten so cheap. In that case, nice one!

I've seen a couple second hand 480s going on eBay for around $200 already.

Nows the time to grab one up cheap since everybody is dumping them for the 570/580.
