I was wondering if it is possible to buy a Dell XPS Gen 4 barebone anyplace other than eBay. All I want is the case, PSU, and motherboard. I have all of the other componants I would need in my almost one month old Dell 4700 series. If anyone can (legally, ofcourse) hook me up with one, that would be great.

I can't find a thing...

Dude Why are you getting a Dell?

Why not get a non-Dell system? a Dell motherboard is likely not worth the trouble as Dell woudn't support it, and it would cost more than a standard board, of equal value.

I found this on NewEgg. (A local only, PC store may get you a better deal, or a Dell XPS barebones).

Micro ATX i915G Mobo $99. Lite -ON ATX case $35.00

$134

Cheapest case I could find on NewEgg, as C38368, gonna recommend a better PSU.

Nice black case, with purple LEDs Nice Black and Silver case Dull ATX Mid Tower case. Highest rated

Sorry, but I can't find an XPS Gen 4 mobo...

If it's possible, I wouldn't get a Dell mobo... I just, for some reason, really like the XPS case. It was very well designed, and is very well ventilated.

Maybe I'll call up the 1800 number for Dell spare parts and see if they'll sell me the case. Here's a pic of the case if you haven't seen it (minus the blue spots ofcourse): XPSG4.JPG

Sorry, I didn't realize the picture was so big. It was only 400 pixels long as it appeared on the site I got it from. Sorry if I'm breaking any rules...

With the dell case you may have a problem getting the new ATX motherboard to fit it. Dell motherboards I believe are a tad larger with different mounting holes than the standard ATX cases you'd normally buy.

I would just buy some other case. There are others that kill Dell's XPS. Even if Dell lets you buy a case, they'll charge you over $200 for case worth around $100.

Just type in this to let us got to the site and view it.

without any spaces. :D

If a Guy wants to pay $200 for a nice case, then its worth $200. The Case is mostly about appearance. The DELL logo is worth about $80-$100 to many people. I'm talking average consumers. It could be the same exact case, and innerds, and people would $100 more just to get the one with the "Dell" logo.
