Ok im looking to spend around $250 on a new graphics card. At the min im using a GeForceFx 5750 256. Seems a bit crappy from what ive seen and what ive been told? Looking for a decent card in that sort of price range that will be alot better hopefully. My motherboard is a Asus P5AD2 Delux wireless edition if that helps any. Thanks much :)

Nvidia Geforce FX6600 would be my choice! You could also get a 6800, but that's up to you and your budget!

Yeah, what Mullet Man suggested, but FYI it's not FX6600 (none of the 6000 series Nvidia cards have the "FX" designation) it's the 6600GT, it comes in both AGP and PCIe varities.

Not sure exactly what it would be in $$ but the ATI X800XL would be be my choice,i think its in your budget, this is the competitor to the "6800GT",so is far better than the 6600GT. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2299&p=3 It is also available as AGP or PCI-E,do a search for it for prices and check this link also http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=31&threadid=1568044

Naw, the x800XL is out of your price league, if you want an ATI card, try the x700, but you'll only find it in PCIe.

Looking at what you have, you probably only have AGP, I could be wrong though. I would suggest an NVidia GeForce 6600GT. At Newegg.com you can get it for well under your price range. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133137 $ 150 Oh and You say your graphics card is crappy, Im running an FX 5200. not ultra or anythig like that.

Save about $25 more and get something better like a 6800gt or an X800xl.

Indeed. Save a little more money for a 6800GT or X800XL. The 6800GT is faster than the X800XL but the X800XT is faster.

Yes the 6800GT is faster than the X800XL, barely, i think the X800XL is a better bang for your buck card but the 6800 has some goodies like SM3.0.
