try enableing or disabling dual channel ram in bios, its possible that the dual channel could be abit whacky, or that its just not enabled and could crank up your speed (technically it shoulddnt be enabled if the sticks arnt the same exact model) see which runs better...

Those scores sound right for your specs. Upgrade your video card and then you will be pleased as the 9800 is getting old. Ive got amd 64 3000, 512mb, and x800 xl and i get 10k plus in 3dmark03 and 5k plus in 05, just upgrade your card.

DDR is enabled by default any time you have two sticks in matched banks whose operating speeds and timings match. Presumably, they would also both need be SS or DS.

Irregardless, as morgster just said, those scores are not out of line. 3DMark is and always has been a graphics benchmark. Upgrading other components will help your score a little in most cases, but not by much.

well, yeah it has to have the exact brand to (my mobo) to do dual channel so i WAS in single channel, but i just swapped out my moms 1gb geil ram stick to see how it is (troubleshooting because of lockups)
