I have a feeling this is the culprit after long hours of researching. Every couple seconds or maybe it might even skip a minute, I get this weird lag where the players seem to teleport, yet during this time I can still move... Is there anyway to lower my internet hops so that I can play without lag?

Move closer to the server's location. That's about all you can do to reduce the hops. The other ways to prevent such issues is get a faster internet connection or get a new isp with a better network service. Also, if you're connecting through an internet router in your home, try a direct connect (disconnect the router's plug to the cable modem and plug it into your pc then reset the modem) and see if that changes things. If so, try replacing the router.

Can you tell us what your ping is?

Also make sure that you haven't got any programs in the background using any of your bandwidth.
