http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/editors/2005/01/miniapplesandoranges/index.php its a good read for those considering switching to apple but think that the mini is too stripped down.
 :D...
The Apple Mac Mini, is only good for some things... This is Gaming forums. ;) Gaming isn't a Mac Mini speciality.
Cheap PC. Because it has the potential to one day grow into an expensive PC.
And it plays games.
*sad because CompUSSR's Apple guy wasn't there to be harassed today*
I would stay away from the Mac mini. Not good for gaming, rather slow, not expandable at all, and it will most likely be well out of date in under a year (accually, it already is out of date).
carl4286rather slow, not expandable at all,
Slow!!! Huh? The G4 processor is twice as fast an Intel Penium 4.
Match that 1.25ghz G4 up against a Celeron, and your looking at the equivalant, of 3.0ghz performance.
Which is faster, a 2.4ghz Celeron a 2.4ghz Pentium 4 a 2.4ghz AMD 64
See, clock speed means notin'. That MacMini is a powerfull machine.
That apple is a good machine, I recommend it, except for gaming. Or -$400 systems. such as AMD K6/7s, or Pentium IIs, or 600mhz Celerons.
Yeah, 'cuz that 32MB Radeon 9200 is one rockin' card!
