I just reformatted my hard drives to get rid of all extra and unwanted stuff so my comp would run smoother, but then when I reinstalled windows XP its pretty much the opposite. All windows are really laggy when I drag them or scroll in them. Windows seem to open, close, maximize and minimize fine but they lag like crazy when dragging or scrolling. There are other problems as well, like the resolution I used to have my screen set on is no longer there. This happened before once, and I took it in to a shop and they fixed it. I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me with this so I can fix it this time though because the computer shop charged a lot of money and installed stuff I didnt want. I have no idea why this is happening, I didnt see too much I could screw up while installing windows:o Edit: I tried doing a repair install but it did nothing.

LMAO. That and don't forget your motherboard's chipset drivers. They will make your graphics work a lot better.

The most common error among all reformat queries is drivers. Just don't do it, peeps ;)
