It boots normally if I go F8 and chose start windows normally. But it doesnt boot on its' own :( Help anyone?

mbr refers to "master boot record" one fairly drastic method to get rid of it would be to boot from your windows xp install cd and run "FIXMBR"

I would, but I don't have the windows install disk :(

Also often when I'ke surfing the net I'm doing stuff, like surfing the net or something. The mouse cursour will randomly start going around the screen and opening stuff and often causing the computer to lock-up. It's wierd becuase i've tried changing all the mouse settings but it still does this!

I agree with omen, I don't know if the two problems coincide. Do you have protection on your comp. And I don't mean a condom in your ethernet port:)

That really does sound like someone has control of your laptop. Plus don't feel completely secure just because you have an anti-virus and a firewall, there are still ways through.

I'd suggest,if you have any kind of installation CD's, running them and wiping it. First backup all information you want though.

Take it back to where you got it from and demand a replacement. Best idea that comes to mind, as long as you don't have files that you want to keep, otherwise, transfer those files then take it back.
