We have sattellite internet, (we have a dish on our building) because we can't get dsl in our area. The company claims 1mbps downloads, we get a max of 100kbps. That's not the problem. The problem is the time it takes for the info to send and receive to the server. So when we request a web page, it takes a second to send the request to load the page, a second to receive the confirmation, etc. It's because of the airtime and stuff of our dish sending information. It builds up for websites to load sloow. And games are a whole other thing. I get pings of 2000-3000 at the least. So, I don't think fixing game problems is possible, but i'm wondering if theres a way to get around web surfing problems. Like make it a bit faster. Like I heard from a friend that there's some way to load more than one image and other things at a time, meaning it's not affected as much by sattellite air-time. Remember, download speeds not a problem, the time it takes to request it is. I dno, if i'm unclear tell me. Thanks in response!
The problem you're refering to is specifically known as latency.
What web browser are you using?
Ie 7 edit: i'll be back later today, thanks for response =)
Try using Firefox. IE7 is known for slow page loading.
Yup. Try FireFox.
Also get the FasterFox extension for better performance.
Eh, FasterFox does have some pretty big drawbacks:
Read the above ariticle before deciding to use FasterFox.
The other bad thing about IE7 is that IE *STILL* doesnt have a download manager. And (at least for me) is really unstable. If I opne more htan say 10 tabs the whole things starts grinding to a halt....

When you say 100kbps, is that the speed that your browser says when you're downloading a file?
