Will any of you be considering getting a zune, its coming out for christmas and well like all MS products it wants to take control of the market.
Microsoft has announced that its Zune digital music player will be released in the US in time for Christmas. Unveiling more details of the player, which it hopes will rival Apple's iPod, Microsoft said the Zune will come in three colors - black, white and brown.
i have a creative and was thinking about upgrading but now i think about it, it will probably have many bugs and be expensive.
Depends, I will need something to replace my fubared Zen Xtra but I'm not doing it yet.
I don't think that it even plays video.
Neither does my Zen and I couldn't care less. :p
Damn Microsoft copying Mac. And several years late I might add..
I'm happy with my iPod.
I had to buy the video one because it's the only iPod they stock in 60GB. I didn't want video playback because I would never use it, and it costs so much more.
This 'Zune', I doubt will be as popular as the iPod. Mainly because iPod dominates the market of mp3 players, and pretty much has a monoploy with Hard-disk ones.
But, I guess if Microsoft do competitivly price the products, it might appeal to alot of people. Especially seeing as the price of the iPod is rediculous.
I do like the Wireless support idea. But knowing Microsoft, I can only assume swapping songs won't be as easy as a wireless transfer. Data encryption for copywrite, etc. Should be interesting.

[QUOTE=BBC News]Microsoft hopes the Zune, which will also be able to play videos and includes a radio, will eat into the iPod's more than 75% share of the digital music player market in the US.
Yep, it does. But like I said, Video playback certainly doesn't appeal to me, especially on a 3 inch screen.
Probably not, unless someone wants to buy my iPod for more than the zune costs. And even then, probably not still. I'm fine with an iPod, this is just Microsoft calling for more money, and to get the MS fanboys who don't want to buy an iPod because it's made by Apple.
Personally I don't have a problem with Apple, we have a number of Macs. What I hate is iTunes, so I'll never get an iPod unless I'm desperate. It's nice that there's soon to be another alternative, but despite Apple's dominance there are a number of large capacity hard-drive players around.
