I would like to see what y'all can build..... basically, it's just going to be for browsing the internet, doesn't need to be top of the line but to where it gets the job done with no delays..... The case I want: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811190017 Possibly this CPU: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16811190017 (Show me something else if ya' want) Make it an Epox motherboard if you can (Heard they're the best)..... no SLI....
the CPU link shows the case, and the case link shows the case :doH!!:
good budget mobo is the ASrock dual SATA, bought one recently for a friend . it can use either an AGP or PCI express graphic card
Thinking about it.
Oops, here's the CPU: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819116001
the case only has a 200 watt power supply which isnt enough. also the case is micro atx so you would need a matching board which if you want an epox mobo gives you only these 2
Thinking about it.
Ok, I'll go with the AGP board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813123261 now for a video card..... actually show me a moderately priced high end AGP 4X\8X card, I'll swap out the card I got (Tell me, is a XFX GeForce FX 5200 256 MB RAM capable of handling COD2? Cause I'm getting 3 FPS right now).
no way in hell man
I don't know where you get your information, but Epox is a second tier bit player. Best? Hardly.
Do you have a price range in mind? $800-1000, etc?
And ditto on the 5200 not running CoD2 well. I'd be surprised if it even ran at all on the lowest settings.
The Asrock board Mitch linked to is a great board for possible future video card upgrades. It's also made by Asus, who are are among the best in my opinion (Asus, MSI, DFI, Abit).
And for a gaming cpu (you mentioned playing CoD2) in the ~$100-$150 price range, I'd look at one of these two:
If you want to do alot of multitasking, stick with the Intel.
In my Gaming machine: P4 3.2 Ghz; 2 gig RAM; FX 5200 (AGP 4X/8X); 250 GB HDD...... I'd move that vid card to my new Internet Machine and get a better one for my rig.... what do y'all suggest in the $100-$200 range? BTW, the 5200 actually does run COD2, just so dang choppy with 1-3 FPS. The funny part is, is that BF2 runs fine, even better than fine.....
How about one of these:
I couldn't find the eVGA 6600gt that I run in my daughter's rig, or I would have posted it. It's an excellent card for the money. Maybe check tigerdirect or zipzoomfly for it.
Or look for a 6800gs which will run a bit more than $200, but would be an excellent card.
