My Samsung Syncmaster 172X TFT is starting to behave strangely. When I turn it on the screen flickers for several minutes and then just works fine. After some hours it turns itself off and works only after a break of about 5 minutes.
The problem is not connected to the dvi-cable or the PC as it also occurs when I run the monitor while it's disconnected.
Any idea what could cause this?
Possibly a dodgy backlight, or a loose power connection.
I'd return it, if it's still under warranty.
I have a CRT that does that, except for the random turn off bit. I suspect the gun may be the source. Not sure why an LCD would do that, but the obvious culprit would probably be an issue with the power source.
I'm with Rookie on this one... RMA the thing.
I called Samsung service today, they also think the powersource is broken. Good thing that I have 4 months of my warranty left :)
