Not quite what I was hoping for, but good stuff nonetheless. The details: -20 pixel pipes (instead of 24) -Possibly to reatin all 8 vertex shaders, ROP at 16 -400MHz core clock -11 August launch at $449 MSRP color me happy.
I just might save up and get one. WOW. I'm actually suprised that the left 20 pixel pipes and not put in 16 like the 6800 Ultra. I guess they wanted the 7800 to have even more of an obvious advantage,
Yeah, I was worried for awhile that they'd introduce the GT part with only 16 pipes based on some earlier statements by nVIDIA. Fortunately for us money-burning types, they seem to have a pretty good finger on the pulse of the market.
More for me to burn my money on. And they're right on target. I'm going to save up and get one.

Atleast the msrp is pretty low so we could see GT's for $400 or maybe lower. Any details on whether a AGP version of the card will be released?

That will be a nice card, too bad I just got a 6800gt:p Already phasing out the base 6800 to make base 7800's wow.
I don't believe Nvidia's making an AGP version of the 7800. I thought I heard they were done with AGP. Also, 99.9% of the time you buy something you hear about something coller coming out in a few months.

Heh your right about that, thats just how computer stuff is. soon after you buy something its replaced by something better. That 7800GT looks to be a pretty nice card.
The 7800GT is why I'm buying a video card for my latest build last. I almost jumped on a 6800GT earlier, but am rather glad now that I haven't. And don't expect an AGP version unless R520 is released for both. If that happens, then tack $30-$50 onto whatever the card is going for, and that's how much it'll be likely to cost.
I didn't make it!
Didnt they learn a lesson from ATI??? Cutting pipes is stupid, and will only hurt sales. The reason the 6800GT sold so well is that it WASNT missing pipes like the X800pro.
