im not sure what IDE stands for but its a interface type with Harddrives and cd/dvd roms. if it cant find them then either your harddrive, cd drive or dvd drive isnt connected properly and cant be found.
Okay thanks I was wondering why my keyboard and mouse wanst working...
Im sure all the hardware is connected properly it must be something worng with the mobo itself mybe. I was hoping to fix this problem myself but if I open the case it would kill my warranty now I just have to wait untill monday to call tech support

IDE stands for Intelligent Drive Electronics or Integrated Drive Electronics
Check your HDD cables and make sure they are plugged in and tight and sometimes the cables just go bad. I had to replace one tonight on my other machines when it refused to detect the drives on bootup.
Also if your installing windows you will probably have to load the driver disc for your motherboard for Windows to recognize the chipset and features.
If you have windows installed and it suddenly cant find drives check cables and if that doesnt work try reinstalling the mobo drivers.
If this is a store bought name brand system do not reinstall teh system restore discs. They will reinstall windows and overwrite all your data casuing you to lose everything.l
I think its a mobo drivers :( first time I had something go worng with an asus. I will try to replace the driver for it. Windows loads just fine after about a full minute of just being idle when turned on. Worst case scenario is that a cable went bad still waiting to see if im allowed to open the case. But thanks for the help Anlushac11
