i have bought a new Microsoft wireless mouse for my laptop. It is a great mouse but in game the moouse speed is to high. I've put the mouse speed in the game menu to 1 and it still goes to fast... So, i change the mouse speed in the Control Panel to the lowest setting. Mouse mouse is very slow on my desktop and internet pages, etc. But ingame it still goes to fast to play a gane like Halo decent. Maybe it could have something to do with the laptop integrated mouse, like you can choose between 2 modes. But i can't find any settings about that... your gameless friend Noobst3r

Unlike the not so useful post above...It is possible that the "pre-configured" drivers that windows loads may be messed up somehow that the speed settings are messed up. I am uncertain how to fix it.

Also, optical mice are always noticeably faster than touchpads or ball mice.

I've had a similar problem with my mouse, and it was wireless. First off, what is your mouse and from that amount of $50 it seems fairly decent, although having a wireless mouse for me effected the speed quite a lot. It was very smooth to use, and navigate around the desktop but when it came to fast reactions the mouse would flip every were. To check this isn't a problem try using a different mouse, such one with a cable or a different decent wireless mouse. If it stays the same, there may be a problem but if it changes, it may be the mouse.

well, i think it is just the mouse being wireless... It is just the default speed of the mouse or something like that.

That's because your other mouse isn't as high end. The higher end, the more sensitive the mouse will be.

Did your mouse come with drivers/a CD? Some mouses come with software that automatically change settings when playing a game, which would explain your problem.
