I imagine that you could fix this with an Extension. So search for one on the FireFox webpage.

THAT's my guess also.

Uh, What happens when you just click "Ok". Right after you click "Bookmark this page"?

Does it give an error, or pop back up? The default folder is "Bookmarks". Which is the drop down list under "Bookmarks" at the top. You should be able to just press OK, and not have to select from the drop down list.

If you want a faster method, then get an extension.

These are a few I recommend for your problem. I have no idea if they will fix it or not, since I don't know what could be wrong.

Bookmark All https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/542/ Bookmarks all open tabs, and has a few extra features over the latest FF updates.

Bookmark Here https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/11/ Adds a menu option "Bookmark Here" to each submenu of the Bookmarks menu.

PlainOldFavorites https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/668/ http://www.iosart.com/firefox/plainoldfavorites/ Replaces the Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape Bookmarks, with Internet Explorer's Favorites. Using the actual Favorites from your "My Favorites" folder. Mozilla Update is slow to update its extensions. The second link is the author's homepage, which has the most up-to-date version.
