Well im looking for a programme (preferably freeware) that will seperate audio files such as mp3s into its individual sounds, examplefromarock track, just having the guitar or something like that.

Ideas??

We use a program at school called Audacity, dunno if it does that though..

Audacity is very limited, you can split out the guitar track, but that's about all you can do with filters and eq settings (that i've found), it doesn't sound great though, you still get some of the higher pitched sounds coming from the drums and other instruments

ex: Original Audaci-fied

You can't split the track into individual instruments though, because when a song is put onto a cd, the file types don't keep the master track split up the way it is in the studio.
