whenever i try to run certain games and programs it comes up with this error message: 16 bit Windows Subsystem C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AOUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. This occurs whenever i try and install aliens vs predator:gold edition ,or some over software applications such as photo-editing software,i have windows XP

I think it wants the proper MS DOS, which XP doesn't ship with. If you've got a Windows 98 cd, try making a new partition with it to run it on. XP comes with Command Prompt, which isn't the same.

yeh the change from '98 - XP was the biggest upgrade ever brand new system etc.. thats probly ur problem

but the software i used is fully compatable with XP..........oh well these things happen......
