Back once more with another problem, whilst trying to fix half life 2 steam sent me an e-mail saying that I should send them an analysis of my pc using 'msinfo32', prolem is it wont run. I tried running 'msinfo32' and 'msinfo32.exe' and going to start>programs>accesories>system tools>system information but all that happens when I click it or run it is the box or menu closes then nothing happens. I searched my pc and found it on my C: drive and I tried double-clicking the actual file to run it and again nothing happens, any help please?
Okay, I did another search of my C: drive and this time the 'msinfo32.exe' file wasn't there so does anyone know where I can download it from like I did with that sound file a while back and whereabouts to put it? I'm hoping if I can do this and send it to steam I might be able to get half life 2 running again, or is that just wishful thinking?
Worked for me what , type of PC OS do you have? And why not try the other one, that brings up everything,I cant remeber it, but it brings ups tabs and lets you test your PC. I wanna say its "direct" sometihng, but it slips me. BTW dont use quotes.
dxdiag is what you mean, FlyGuy.
OO, thanks ....Directx....idiot....
I have windows xp home edition sp2, dxdiag runs fine and I pass all the tests but that only gives a small bit of information about the pc and isn't very detailed and as far as I know I can't pass the info it shows me on to steam. I was wondering if someone could upload a copy of the msinfo32 file or show me where I could download it from and where it goes in my pc because the problem is that I don't have it for some reason. Thanks.
So nobody can help then?
I guess not.
You can try using the EA app EAsy Info. It comes with most EA games, and you may already have it. I've attached it in case you don't. (I believe it's freeware available from their site)
It shows a fair amount of details about your system, but there are better apps out there which will show more.
Is the missing msinfo32.exe , like the missing msconfig on older verisons of windows?
