Yes. They're also known as region-free DVD players. I've never used one - I don't think, the one sitting downstairs might be, I don't know - but I'd assume they'd work just like any other.

They should indeed work like any other, but I've heard about some code you have to enter to get to the builder's menu, and you can edit the region that way.

For pc, there are multiple programs that by-pass the region code.

Keep in mind that if you're changing the region on a player that isn't completely region-free, the firmware often limits you to only 5 changes or so, and then it will be permanently locked on whatever region you set it to the last time.

I bought a region free dvd player for my TV a few years ago. It was relatively cheap and you didn't have to change any codes, never had any problems with it.

Region 1 FOREVER!

On top of region free dvd players they also have "all region" dvds that have all the region codes on them so they will work on any dvd player. I should pick up a region free dvd player myself, the movie industry completely rips off the industrialized nations with overpriced dvds while the rest of the world only pays a pittance for them.

Yes, they do. But I couldn't tell you where to find them because I've never gone looking.

It's actually 3, and the way described in wmp confused me, so now i have some locked region 1 drive in a region 2. (Imported Lost Season 1 when it came out in the US) I thought i had one more time left, but it appeared that i used it. =p

If you want a program for pc, use Remote Selector, works awesome for me for more than a year now. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Remote_selector
