On friday night i got my 1 gb of ram and xfx 7600GT =D shipped real fast, and i put it in saturday. And oh my goodness it makez me happy. Before i could only play games like guild wars on lowest settings (with fps lag and terrible load times).

Threw in the ram and card, easy, worked perfy

now i can switch between games and internet, and its fast.

not only can I smoothly max out guild wars, but I can max out the supreme commander demo :D

^actually, i havn't played big battles yet

thanks a bunch Sambo!!!

No problems mate. Although it's a shame your system never had 1GB as standard but it doesnt matter now. Good luck in gaming!

Good luck with your new graphic card and ram, and play it hard 24/24 hours.

Worthy upgrade from 512MB RAM and a X700.

Forgot to mention briefly bout gaming in my last post, my rig's 7900 GTO occasionally stutters when playing Oblivion at 1680x1050, Ultra, HDR, 8xAF but thankfully not enough to render the game unplayable. Consider 25fps a minimum required for smooth gameplay (least I consider that to be minimum).

Yeah that card should but Oblivions a taxing game at the best of times. I play alot of COD2, thankfully I can crank it up abit though. My wifes pc still plays ok even with an older 9800pro. Great older cards! My pc specs: AMD4600X2, 2G GeiL Ultra, Radeon X1900XT 512, TASK 520w dual railed PSU.

Note that i used to have an X300. Painful right? Anyway... I'm really surprised i can play supreme commander on high... Is the demo less tasking than the real game?

Forgot to mention the Landscape LOD TextureFix mods that im running which eat up a bit more memory than when the game's unmodded. However that is also considering only my CPU is overclocked (to 2.46Ghz now up from 2.4 - slowly getting it to its limit to find out how well it can truly run). If I overclock my GPU as well, I get the 25fps minimum I consider smooth.

Bleh, if I'd been talking to you when you had the X300 I would have felt truly sorry for you. However my very first build of a PC did have a puny GeForce FX5700 LE

Have fun with it, the gaming difference must be huge compared to having a X300. :) BTW, I got and installed my 8800GTS 640MB O/C and 4000+ only a few days ago, the processor might not be much, which is to be expected at a price of 60€, but when I overclock it some more than I already have (standard 2,4GHz, currently @2,62GHz) there should be more improvement over my old 3000+ (1,8GHz@2,2GHz) that started to feel slightly strained.

Heh, a 5700LE isn't that slow, my first gaming build had a K6-3 400MHz, 128MB SDRAM and an ATI Rage 128 Pro, 16MB version... Not really any good for anything heavier than GTA2. =p
