So, i got my X2 3800+ installed, removed the old drivers and installed the new, and i love my new CPU.

However, it appears the FAN likes to run amok. And i mean really amok. I have my case loose incase i need to get in there fast, and it LITTERELY made it fall of the table! :uhoh: And that was after i played 3 minutes in Battlefield 2!

I am NOT running Cool'n'Quiet, i have the latest X2 drivers and the X2 optimiser. Auto-Assault worked fine for me, and it's alot more CPU intensive than BF2. What gives?

What do you have in that thing a window fan?!

It looks to me that you do not have the fan mounted snug enough, whenyou get audible vibration from a CPU fan, you have a problem!

It is mounted as noted in the instructions, and it will NOT move even by force. It is standard AMD fan

Then are you sure it is the Fan that is making that noise, especially with enough force to make your desktop fall?!

I would, you expect noise from a fan because of the movement of air, but if it is vibrating, then you have something loose!

No, enough force to make my desktop vibrate. And yes, it's the fan.

I have turned on Q-Fan and Cool'n'quiet and no problems anymore. If i overheat, the backup system will save me ;)
